OPTIONS

CARBON STEEL  The traditional or conventional material for the manufacture of slitting blades.
STAINLESS STEEL. Useful where corrosion steel is an issue
TIN (TITANIUM NITRIDE). A low cost PVD (Physical vapor deposition) gold-colored coating which provide a superficial hardness to the blade surface and has a lower coefficient friction than steel.
CERAMIC COATING. A black PVD coating which has higher surface hardness than TIN; better consistency; improved initial sharpness and a lower coefficient of friction than TIN.
XCD BLADE. The newest generation of a blade which we developed in Sheffield, England. A stainless blade with a bespoke surface treatment and extra hard and very low coefficient of friction to the bevels; for improved performance on all films/foils including short-run operations requiring regular starting/stopping.
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE. The alternative to zirconia ceramic offering greater fracture resistance. very good results on highly abrasive films.
HIP (HOT ISOSTATIC PRESSED) ZIRCONIA CERAMIC. This can be a perfect blade for continuously running cast and blown lines: especially for metalized and white films and foils operating at high speeds.
